Epic games announced today it was laying off 1,000 Employees today. This comes with the reasoning that there has been a “downturn of engagement”. As of late this downturn does seem to be a problem for Live Service games, as we’ve seen a number of projects closed not long after release, or shuttered altogether (Sony I’m looking at you) before they hit release.

We would like to extend our sympathies to anyone affected by these layoffs. These days are already hard enough, but this comes at a pretty tough time for a lot of people in the world. Hopefully, everyone will be able to bounce back quickly, and find their footing. In the meantime keep looking to us to provide any updates on this and any other news stories.
