Coming hot off the heels of Embracer Group selling off a chunk of it’s assets, including Borderlands developer Gearbox Software to Take Two Interactive to the tune of almost half a billion dollars, Gearbox has announced a round of layoffs. All of this comes at the tail end of Gearbox announcing several new titles, Including Borderlands 4.

In the wake of the sell and announcement, several employees took to their social medias across various platforms to announce their statuses with the company. Gearbox later confirmed this, announcing that none of the positions affected development of the titles they had brewing. The game industry as a whole has been hit hard with these layoffs as of late, and here is hoping that anyone affected by these layoffs can bounce back quickly. Stay tuned for more as it comes.
