A Leaker with a pretty credible history responded to some tweets regarding the Final Fantasy 9 and 10 remake rumors this week, claiming that the rumors for FF9 were accurate, while simultaneously debunking the FF10 remake rumors. FF9 was originally found during the Nvidia GeForce now leak, which as of now, has been a very accurate source of info for a lot of upcoming projects.
This recent confirmation and debunking comes from a leaker by the name of Midori, and they have a pretty compelling track record of being correct about these things. See the tweets below:
Another leaker, by the name Im a Hero Too, suggested that FF9 Remake would be PS5 exclusive, and that it would keep it’s traditional systems, but that definitely remains to be seen, as Square Enix recently announced an end to exclusivity. All that can be surmised at this point is that it appears that at least FF9 remake doesn’t seem to be among the canceled titles that Square Enix has eluded to.
