Sometimes in life, second chances escape us. There are always missed opportunities: people, places, and things we would give anything to experience again. Sometimes, though, we are given second chances, and Capcom decided to grace us with a few. Releasing sometime in 2025 (no official release date as of this writing), Capcom Fighting Collection 2 boasts eight fighters, some of which have become very expensive to obtain for their original consoles. Powerstone, Powerstone 2, and Project Justice alone would cost you over $300! Indeed, those three games would be well worth the price of entry, but don’t forget we’re also getting FIVE (!) more classics from not only Capcom’s library but from the fighting genre as a whole! Both Capcom vs. SNK games, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3, and Plasma Sword. Most of these games were released for the Dreamcast originally, outside of the multiplatform SFA 3 and Capcom Fighting Evolution, which were released for the PS2 and Xbox, so a lot of fighting fans may be experiencing a few of these gems for the first time.

If my time with the previous CFC and Marvel vs. Capcom Collection are anything to go by, we will see some upgrades and the newest versions of these games, usually based on the console or, in some cases, arcade versions of these fighters. Games like Capcom vs. SNK were already damn near perfect, but getting the most updated builds of these games, along with some new netcode, is going to be absolutely astounding. There’s a lot to look forward to in this collection, especially for me in regard to Project Justice, Plasma Sword, and Powerstone 2, as this will be a first-time playthrough of those games for me. Hopefully, we will be given a hard street date soon, as we await this amazing collection.
